Thinking about applying to the UW? Join us for one of our Regional Application Workshops in Wenatchee, Tri-Cities, or Yakima!
These in-person workshops are designed to support you through the UW application process. You’ll get tips and guidance on:
- Completing the Common App
- Writing your UW personal statement and short responses
- Navigating the UW admission process with confidence
Our goal is to encourage you to pursue higher education and help you feel prepared to apply as a first-year student to the University of Washington.

All participants are required to complete the UW Emergency Contact and Permission Form prior to attending the conference. A parent or guardian must provide a signature as part of this process. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to complete the form online via DocuSign. You may also access the form directly []. Please note: this form is mandatory for participation.

Join us for Shades of Purple, a one-day student conference for high school seniors (Class of 2027) in Washington who are interested in applying to the University of Washington as first-year students.
Shades of Purple was created to encourage you to pursue higher education as well as to give you the opportunity to experience the University of Washington. You will attend workshops to prepare you for the UW admission process, learn about campus programs, meet admissions staff and much more.
We are hosting the Shades of Purple Conference in-person and virtually. All sessions will follow the same agenda, please see registration below for full details such as dates and locations.
Note: Shades of Purple is open to all high school seniors (Class of 2027) in Washington who are interested in attending the University of Washington in Seattle. However, students who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander and Southeast Asian may find this program of particular interest.

Due to space capacity and specific programming, advanced registration is required, and this event is for students only (no additional guests).
