BEFORE APPLYING

Do your research and make a plan

Meet regularly with an academic adviser at your current institution
Attend a Transfer Thursday at the UW
Identify pre-requisite courses for intended majors and alternative majors
Identify pre-requisite courses for intended majors and alternative majors
Take note of UW application dates and deadlines
Contact your UW Admissions Counselor with questions about your application
Review UW Financial Aid net price calculator and expected family contribution (EFC) estimator
Sign up for the UW Admissions mailing list and Transfer Newsletter
Attend the U to You event with MOR

WHEN YOU APPLY

Submit all UW and scholarship applications

Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA)
Continue meeting with an academic adviser at your current institution
Submit UW application and send transcripts to UW Admissions
Submit major application if applicable (not all majors will direct admit or require an application)
Set up your UW NetID

UPON ADMISSION

Submit all UW and scholarship applications

Pay the New Student Enrollment and Orientation Fee (NSEOF) to accept offer
Submit updated transcripts and immunization paperwork before your Advising & Orientation session (A&O)
Meet with your UW academic adviser and register for classes at A&O
Check your financial aid status on MyUW
Check eligibility for work-study jobs
Join the Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships, and Awards listserv and explore the database
Login into your UW email using your NetID

WHEN YOU'RE A HUSKY

Find resources and build community

Meet regularly with your UW academic adviser
Utilize free UW tutors and writing centers
Know if you qualify to earn your associate degree through the UW reverse transfer program
Visit the Commuter and Transfer Commons (CTC)
Join Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) or get involved with student government (ASUW)
Apply to be a Transfer Ambassador

Transfer Ambassadors
Transfer Ambassadors (TAs) are current transfer students who help new transfer students in their transition to the UW campus. TAs volunteer throughout the academic year and summer at events and programs and serve as UW ambassadors around the transfer student experience.
