RISE, Readiness for Islander Success in Education, is a one-day conference for Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander high school students who are interested in the University of Washington Seattle. RISE was created to encourage, motivate, and empower Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander students to pursue higher education, give them the opportunity to experience the UW and to prepare for a successful first-year application. Attendees will meet current UW staff & students as well as future classmates, learn about campus programs, attend a UW admissions presentation, and discover the diversity and unity that exists in the UW community.
RISE is open to all WA state 9th – 10th grade students, and aims to create a welcoming, inclusive space for Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander students and anyone interested in building community, exploring Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander cultures, and connecting with student organizations and support resources available at the UW.
Note: Participation is open to all students regardless of race/ethnic background.

Young, Gifted, & Black (YGB) is designed to engage African American high school students interested in the University of Washington. The purpose of this conference is to promote positive self-esteem, social consciousness, and cultural awareness, while simultaneously emphasizing the importance of higher education. The workshops and interactions with current African American UW students, staff, and the community will provide both the resources and role models to help students make a commitment to pursue higher education and to prepare for a successful first-year application. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the UW and discover all the possibilities awaiting.

About MOR Dawgs
MOR Dawgs is a virtual event series for high school and transfer students to learn about admission to the University of Washington, build college-going skills, and connect with UW admissions counselors, students, and professionals.
Our virtual sessions are open to all high school and transfer students in Washington who are interested in attending the University of Washington in Seattle. However, students who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian may find this program of particular interest.
Rising SEAs is a conference designed for high school students who are interested in applying to the University of Washington Seattle. The purpose of the conference is to encourage, motivate and empower students to purse higher education, as well as to give them an opportunity to experience what the University of Washington has to offer.
Participants will meet UW staff and current UW Southeast Asian students, receive information on college admission, campus programs, and resources. Through interactive workshops, the collective space will provide an opportunity for participants to share their cultural experience and build community with fellow participants to prepare for a successful first-year application
